So first off, what Are Chakras?
Traditionally, the chakras are described as seven energy centres that run from the base of the spine to the top of the head.
These centres allow the flow of energy to reach every part of our bodies and our minds, influencing the energy flow throughout our entire system.
When these chakras are unlocked, our energies flow freely and we feel healthy and free of ailments. However, when this energy is trapped, blocked energy in our chakras can often lead to illness and the breakdown of our overall wellness.
It is therefore highly important to understand what each chakra represents and what we can do to keep our energy flowing freely.
Chakras cannot be seen as they are not physical and so cannot be identified anatomically. Instead we access them through activities like breathing and meditation practices, and of course Reiki!
It’s also popular for yoga teachers to theme their classes around the opening of one or more of the chakras, so you may come across them that way.
Each chakra is associated with a certain part of the body as well as with your physical, mental and emotional interactions. Over this blog series I shall delve in to each Chakra individually, so just click on the Chakra names below to find out more about each one!
